2012 BHASC Format

Thanks to Marlin Wade for coming up with this years format of the race every racer wants to win.

Seven years running, seven different winners.

This year there should be at least three past BHASC Champions in attendance making the odds greater that there will be a repeat.

Here is the format this year:



2012 Boyd Hughes All Star Challenge

Potential 12 Entries in Race
All entries will participant in four lap single car qualifying

            1—Fastest qualifier from single car qualifying will start on pole

2 through 7—All cars will run in a 50 lap heat race. Positions 2 through 7 will              
                be based on final finishing positions in heat races

            8 and 9—1st and 2nd place finishers in 75 lap B Main

10—All names of drivers that have not qualified for the A Main at this point will                                                            put in a hat and the name that is drawn out will be the 10th place starter in A

11-Winner of BHASC points series (part of Lagoon Park Raceway regular points series), if this driver has not already qualified for the race

12—Winner of the 2011 BHASC if this driver has not already qualified for the race

Format for the race:

Four 75 lap segments (Total of 300 laps)

Red flag stop at the end of each 75 lap segment.  Ten minute break at each stop.  The car can be taken of pit road and any and all changes (legal) can be made.  Race will restart at the end of 10 minutes (no grace period will be allowed).
Cars will be lined up based on the order they are running in the scoring computer for the start on the first three segments

Field will be inverted at the beginning of one of the segments.

The person that finishes 1st at the end of the first 75 lap segment will start in 1st place for the start of the 4th segment (Must be on the lead lap at the end of the 3rd 75 lap segment).

The person that finishes 1st at the end of the second 75 lap segment (150 laps into the race) will start in 2nd place for the start of the last 75 lap segment.  (Must be on the lead lap at the end of the 3rd segment)
 
The person that finishes 1st at the end of the third 75 lap segment (225 laps into the race) will start in 3rd place for the start of the last 75 lap segment  (Must be on the lead laps at the end of the 3rd segment)

Only the cars that are running on the lead lap at the end of 225 laps will be allowed to start the final 75 lap segment.  If there are not 6 cars on the lead lap at this point, then all cars one lap down will start, etc, until we have s at least six cars start the last 75 laps.
